Stasis
In Season 23, Stasis abilities are getting a boost. The Seasonal Artifact will feature Stasis perks, and there will be changes to abilities like Glacial Quake, Frostpulse, Winter’s Shroud, and Glacier Grenade. Stay tuned for more details in the upcoming Artifact and abilities preview closer to the season’s launch.
Luminous Shader
Bungie is working to fix the unintentional change to the Luminous Void shader caused by Update 7.2.0.2.
“Players should be aware that the shader as it displayed currently will no longer be accurate once this change is reverted in an upcoming update.”
Gjallarhorn Behavior Updates
During the Season of the Witch, Gjallarhorn was adjusted to fix a bug, inadvertently altering its functionality. Given Bungie’s plans to reduce its damage due to its boss-fighting strength, the weapon’s current state will be maintained while its performance is observed.
Sonar Station
Bungie is investigating an issue where the Season of the Deep Sonar Station vendor isn’t providing bounties, stopping Guardians from finishing the weekly Aquatic Operations Challenge.
Special Deliveries Kiosk
Bungie recommends checking the Special Deliveries kiosk by the Cryptarch if your missing rewards. “New Light players will continue to be able to access these rewards from Shaw Han in the Cosmodrome.”

🏆 Contest Mode Rules
Contest Mode Rules
- Contest Mode will be enabled for 48 hours.
- You will need to be at 1790 Power to be at the cap for all of the encounters to take the raid on.
- Clearing the raid with Contest Mode active is the first step to access the Challenge Mode in the Director and the special Superior Swordplay Triumph with the challenges for each encounter.
- To complete the Superior Swordplay triumph, a fireteam must complete a curated list of challenges in this Challenge Mode and claim the triumph to snag that World First title and that sweet, sweet belt.
- To enforce the Triumph requirements in Challenge Mode, your fireteam will wipe if you fail the success conditions during any encounter.
Contest Mode Changes:
Bungie tuned Contest Mode in Crota’s End to keep launch event challenging compared to players’ improving abilities.
- Increased the cap of player outgoing damage vs. combatants. Keep in mind that the incoming damage cap did not change.
- Some enemies will gain elemental shields.
- All enemies will be more aggressive than in the previous Contest Mode.

Mode: Fortress
- To win, score more points that your opponent by capturing and defending the zones. The Hunt activates twice per match.
- Zones: Gain 2 points for each zone your team controls at each time interval.
- Zone Advantage: The state when your team controls 2 zones. Your team gains 4 points at each time interval.
- Power Play: The state when your team controls all 3 zones. Your team gains 6 points at each time interval.
- The Hunt: Occurs twice per match. Caiatl sends a high-value zone via Drop Pod. This zone is quick to capture and awards a large number of points over a shorter period of time.
