Game mode: Fortress

To win, score more points that your opponent by capturing and defending the zones. The Hunt activates twice per match.

  • Zones: Gain 2 points for each zone your team controls at each time interval.
  • Zone Advantage: The state when your team controls 2 zones. Your team gains 4 points at each time interval.
  • Power Play: The state when your team controls all 3 zones. Your team gains 6 points at each time interval.
  • The Hunt: Occurs twice per match. Caiatl sends a high-value zone via Drop Pod. This zone is quick to capture and awards a large number of points over a shorter period of time.

Festival of the Lost

Begins: October 17 at 10 AM PDT

Access: Free Event

A new engram has been introduced for Festival of the Lost called Eerie Engram. These engrams have two uses: players can open them individually for loot or save them to use as currencies for Hocus Focusing (engram focusing).

How to Earn Eerie Engrams?

Haunted Sectors completions have a chance to drop Eerie Engrams. Legend Haunted Sectors have a higher chance to drop these engrams.

Hocus Focusing

Eva Levante will offer Exotic Focusing like Rahool. Players will be able to acquire Exotic armor and Legendary Weapons through Eerie Engram focusing.

Checkmate

Some of the changes you can expect to see soon:

  • Adaptive Hand Cannons will once again 3-tap at any resilience.
  • Rapid-Fire Pulse Rifles will 3-burst at 6 resilience.
  • High-Impact Pulse Rifles will 2-burst at 4 resilience with all critical hits.

  • Reduced Heavy ammo spawn frequency.

Bungie plans on having Checkmate in Crucible Labs for the remainder of the Season, which means Control and Survival is coming back for another round

Crucible Improvements

Bungie is making matchmaking faster by simplifying skill bands while still considering skill levels. They’re also addressing spawn issues, starting with Altar of Flame and Cauldron.

Season 23 Crucible Update Preview

  • Crucible playlist reorganization (including 3v3 rotation)
  • Competitive Crucible tweaks (weapon focus, rank changes, 3v3 Countdown Rush)
  • Refined Trials rewards (for streaks < 7)

The Craftening

All players who played between September 15 (Fri) at 9 AM PDT and September 21 (Thu) at 10 AM PDT will receive The Craftening emblem during Season 23.

Here’s a look at the new emblem (take a closer look and you’ll see the emblem has the Ammit auto rifle on it with a shotgun barrel to highlight the mayhem The Craftening brought).

Speed for All

Starting in Season 23, the Always on Time’s speed will be universal to all sparrows.
