Exotic Mission Steps
Complete steps below to earn the new exotic scout rifle, Wicked Implement.
- Collect all three exotic fish and deposit them at the H.E.L.M. (Tip: Only one person in the fireteam needs to have all three exotic fish. They can activate all three hive statues in Deep Dives for the entire team).
- Offer all three blades to their respective statues in Deep Dives.
- Once the above tasks are completed, a new door will now open on the right side after completing the second encounter in Deep Dives.
- Instead of proceeding forward, go through the newly opened door on the right.
- Inside that door, activate all three of the statues.
- Proceed through the area, defeating enemies, including three Minotaurs and Taken Knight (Tip: Prioritize defeating the Minotaurs before taking on the boss, as doing so grants you the Deathly Sharp buff. This buff greatly enhances your ability to inflict substantial damage on the Taken Knight).
- Continue advancing and a 10-minute timer will be automatically triggered when you reach The Drowning.
- Successfully complete the mission to obtain the new exotic scout rifle. If failed, Deep Dives will restart. (Tip: To do damage to the boss you must defeat three Minotaurs which are scattered around the area. Many are recommending Divinity at least on one player, Linear Fusion Rifles, and Machine Guns, such as Thunderlord.)
NOTE: The catalyst for this weapon is available through Deep Dives however it is not known exactly how to obtain it, once we learn how to get the catalyst we will provide an update to this page and on social media.

Wicked Implement Exotic Scout Rifle
Perks:
- Creeping Attrition (Intrinsic): Rapidly landing precision hits causes targets to become slowed.
- Tithing Harvest (Trait): Precision final blows while Creeping Attrition is active create a Stasis shard that returns to you. Collecting Stasis shards refills the magazine.

Whispering Mothcarp
- Find and collect the Whispering Mothcarp Exotic Fish from the Throne World fishing ponds.
- Random drop from Throne World fishing ponds. The exotic fish usually drops after using 10 – 80 bait (for me this fish took about 80 but the next exotic fish took only 10).
- Deposit it at the H.E.L.M. and you’ll receive an item called the Broken Blade of Strife.
- Offer the Broken Blade of Strife to the Thrall statue in Deep Dives activity (guide below).

- Find and collect the Vexing Placoderm Exotic Fish.
- Random drop from Nessus fishing ponds. The exotic fish usually drops after using 10 – 80 bait (for me this fish took about 80 but the next exotic fish took only 10).
- Deposit it at the H.E.L.M. and you’ll receive the Broken Blade of Ambition.
- Offer the Broken Blade of Ambition to the Thrall statue in Deep Dives (guide below).

- Find and collect the new Exotic Fish on the EDZ.
- Random drop from Nessus fishing ponds. The exotic fish usually drops after using around 10 – 80 bait.
- Deposit it at the H.E.L.M. and you’ll receive a new Broken Blade of Cunning.
- Offer it to the thrall statue in Deep Dives. This statue is underwater before the 2nd encounter (see video below).
- Proceed to “the “How to start the Exotic Quest” below.
Related Triumphs
Collecting all exotic fish completes the Exotic Angler Triumph, the reward for this Triumph is a new emblem called Pond Pals.
Bungie Rewards
The Exotic Angler Pin offer is available for all players who catch all four Exotic Fish and earn the Exotic Angler Triumph by August 22, 2023 at 9:59 AM PDT in Destiny 2.

Words and Action Triumph
After defeating the boss in the new exotic mission, there should be around 1000 seconds left. You can use that time to fins and shoot the 7 nodes (like in VOW raid) throughout the arena to complete the triumph.
