LECTERN OF ENCHANTMENT

The Lectern of Enchantment is located to the left of Eris Morn on the Moon. Shadowkeep is required to access this.

Daily bounties reward Phantasmal Fragments
Weekly bounties reward Phantasmal Cores
Phantasmal Fragments can be obtained by killing Nightmares on the moon. These cap at 30 and only have one stack. You cannot gain any more of these in your inventory, so make sure to spend them so they don’t get wasted.
Phantasmal Cores (x3) are used to purchase Nightmare Essence quests that reward gear.

Phantasmal Cores: Residual Nightmare energy. Used at the Lectern of Enchantment on the Moon in Sanctuary. Used to purchase Essence bounties.

Phantasmal Fragment: Coalesced Nightmare energy. Used at the Lectern of Enchantment on the Moon in Sanctuary. Can be obtained from Nightmare enemies (have yellow bars) that spawn randomly around the open world. Phantasmal Fragments can also be obtained from Nightmare enemies in Strikes.

ESSENCE QUESTS AND REWARDS

First you will need to get an Essence Quest to drop and unlock it by completing it’s requirements. Some of these Quests drop from Nightmare Hunts and some are from various things like opening chests on the Moon. Once you have completed an Essence Quest, you’ll be able to buy it directly from the Lectern of Enchantment on the Moon for 3 Phantasmal Cores to try to get the roll you want (you will still have to complete the Quest steps after buying one).

Note: I am currently gathering all the info needed for all of the Essence Quests listed below.

How to Acquire: Nightmare Hunt Rage (Dominus Ghaul)
Steps: 120 Super kills and Obtain the Fangs of Shun’Gath

Essence of Servitude – Dream Breaker Fusion Rifle

How to Acquire: Nightmare Hunt Servitude (Zydron)
Steps: Defeat 100 Vex, 15 fusion rifle kills, and obtain Ehrath’Ur’s Horned Wreath.
Reward: Dream Breaker Fusion Rifle

Essence of Obscurity – Every Waking Moment Auto Rifle

How to Acquire: Opening chests on the Moon
Steps: Complete patrols, public events, and Lost Sectors across the Moon (50), defeat enemies with Submachine Guns (50), and collect Withered Plumes in the Circle of Bones (1).
Reward: Every Waking Moment Auto Rifle

Essence of Envy – Premonition Pulse Rifle

How to Acquire: Pit of Heresy Dungeon and Altars of Sorrow
Steps: Complete patrols, public events, and Lost Sectors across the Moon, defeat enemies with Pulse Rifles, and collect Claws of Urug’Eth in the Shrine of Oryx.
Reward: Premonition Pulse Rifle

Essence of Brutality – Loud Lullaby Hand Cannon

How to Acquire:
Steps: Complete patrols, public events, and Lost Sectors across the Moon, defeat enemies with Hand Cannons, and collect the Necromantic Strand in the Hall of Wisdom.

Essence of Failure – Arc Logic Auto Rifle

How to Acquire:
Steps: Complete patrols, public events, and Lost Sectors across the Moon, defeat enemies with Auto Rifles, and collect the Captive Cord in the Lunar Battlegrounds.
Reward: Arc Logic Auto Rifle

Essence of Insanity – Love and Death Grenade Launcher

How to Acquire:
Steps: Get Grenade Launcher final blows in strikes, Gambit, or the Crucible and claim the Bound Manacle in the Gatehouse. (Guardians grant the most efficient progress)
Reward: Love and Death Grenade Launcher

Essence of Tranquility – Tranquility Sniper Rifle

How to Acquire: Altars of Sorrow
Steps:

Essence of Jealousy – Night Terror Sword

How to Acquire:
Steps: Complete patrols, public events, and Lost Sectors across the Moon, defeat enemies with Swords, and recover Ralniks’s Hatchet in Traitor’s Ketch

DREAMBANE ARMOR:

Essence of Pride – Helmet

How to Aquire:
Steps: Defeat Nightmares throughout the solar system to cleanse this Essence. Lost Sector bosses grant the most efficient progress. Nightmares can be found in Lost Sectors in the EDZ and on Titan, Nessus, and Io. Nightmares defeated on the Moon grant no progress.
Reward: Dreambane Helmet

Essence of Fear – Chest Armor

How to Aquire:
Steps: Defeat Hive on the Moon (100)
Reward: Dreambane Chest Armor

Essence of Anguish – Leg Armor

How to Aquire:
Steps: Complete 3 daily bounties from Eris.
Reward: Dreambane Leg Armor

Essence of Despair – Class Item

How to Aquire:
Steps: Collect resources, loot chests, and complete patrols, public events, and Lost Sectors across the Moon
Reward: Dreambane Class Item
